Know Your Worth!

Self worth is how much you value yourself. It’s not measured by your appearance, possessions, friend group, income, or any outside factor. Imagine you are a $100 bill. Now, picture that I crumple it, put it through unfortunate circumstances, STOMP on it! How much is it worth now? Yes… still $100! Do not let society or any person allow you to think your value has diminished. If that little voice in your head ever tries to tell you that you’re not enough, just remember: Out of the 7 billion people on this Earth, there is only one you. No one else has the same combination of thoughts, talents, strengths, weaknesses, and expertise. And because of that, the world needs you.

Pay attention to self care by choosing to do at least one thing just for yourself each day —something that you truly enjoy or helps you relax, or enhances you. Be intentional about treating yourself like someone you love. One way you can maintain that is by keeping the commitments you’ve made to yourself. Whenever you bail and break those commitments, you’re subconsciously telling yourself that you don’t matter. You cannot control how others feel about you, but YOU can certainly control how you feel about yourself. Take a minute this week to identify the things you love about yourself, your strengths and failures (yes, even those). Then, think about ways you can learn from those mistakes to improve your current and future self. Write down your thoughts somewhere readily visible to serve as a reminder of how awesome you are. Don’t be discouraged by failures; they are proof that you’re trying . “If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost”—Zig Ziglar. Whenever you start to question your worth, get that list of your strengths and things you love about yourself & recite them to yourself in the mirror. Practice makes perfect, right? :)
